Scope: Extensive interior renovations performed in an occupied space
Value: $29 Million
Schedule: Phased over 26 Months
Dasd Contracting Inc. was selected by the MTCC as a construction manager for this important project which involved five (5) work periods over 26 months. Each work period was highly intense, with over four million dollars in construction activity which had been completed in 6-8 week periods, all the while, meeting the strict deadline to have the facility in full operation in its new condition one day after construction. It was also crucial that the building remain operational during the project as the Metro Toronto Convention Centre had numerous scheduled events that they had to honour, which Dasd Contracting adhered to and abided by. It was crucial that all subcontractors were made aware of time constraints in the tendering phase and that all involved had input into the project schedule. Site meetings were scheduled to ensure the project remained on schedule and to facilitate communication as required for conflict resolution on-site. Trades, as well as our own forces, laboured additional weekend and night shifts as required to meet the imminent schedule. The project was completed on schedule and at (or below) budget in all cases.
